Distortions of the characters aside, I do love the last scene by the dock. And I realize that this must the last tender moment between the two before the emotional cold war after the end of Book 9 until Book 11 where Naoe gets himself killed. Unless you count Kaizaki (who isn't technically Naoe), they don't share a quiet exchange similar to this scene until Book 20.
Love the atmosphere and Takaya's uncertainty.
I just adore the endings of both the series and OAVs.
